A fisherman at sunset on Kuta Beach

I’ve been at Kuta Beach for almost a week now and I only saw the sunset the first night.  I decided I definitely needed to change that so my friend and I took a nice walk down the beach to watch the sunset.  It was incredible and although some of the clouds were in the way a bit, I think it really added to sunset.  The colors were insane as well and I caught this fisherman getting a little fishing in before the last remnants of the light were gone.

Along the river in Kompong Khleang

I headed to the floating village of Kompong Khleang today with a few other couchsurfers.  It was a nice tuk tuk ride through the countryside and then a peaceful boat ride down the river to the Tonle Sap lake where the village was located.  Along the river, I spotted this man alone on his tractor.  I quickly shot a picture and did not think too much about the composition, but when I was going through the photos on my computer there was just something about this picture that I loved!

A couple at sunset on Ko Jum

I probably took 50 pictures of the sunset over my weekend on Ko Jum and this was one of my favorites.  I loved that the man was reaching out to grab his girlfriend/wife’s hand and they hadn’t quite touched yet.  It just had a very romantic feel to it.  Gotta love the beautiful sunset on a tropical beach!

On the Beach of Ko Jum

This guy must live for Frisbee.  I came upon him and Alan throwing the frisbee around for twenty minutes or so and then he was called for dinner.  Alan went to go take a nap, and soon enough he comes running out with his frisbee looking for more action.  He asks me if my friend is around and I told him he might be later.  The interaction had the feeling of “Can Alan come out to play?!”  It was so cute!  He proceeded to throw the frisbee around with himself for awhile, a feat that I had no idea was possible, but with this guy armed with a frisbee, anything is possible.

Longtail boats are the way of travel around the islands in Thailand.  The way they are shaped allows the most beautiful sillohettes!  I loved the cloud formations and the rays of sunlight that seem to be bursting through!

What a wonderful, peaceful weekend on Ko Tao!

Alright, so I know this has been done before, but I really never have and since I was travelling for about a 24 hour period I felt like this was a must.  Not only was I on a 14 hour flight, I was also going ahead in time 15 hours, thus I would have completely missed my chance to take a picture on Tuesday!  This was taken on my flight from Los Angeles to Taipei, Taiwan and yes it was taken with my point and shoot camera because that was the camera that was most easily accessible!  At least, I took the picture, right?!

What a way to start out the New Year!  With one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen!  Wow, sorry Thailand, but Southern California’s sunsets are way ahead in the beauty category!  The colors were just amazing!

This was taken from a view up top Malibu Canyon and the sunset just kept getting better and better!

Perfect picture to start off my project!
